Dr Carolyn Cowey is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist trained in academic psychology and applied psychology. She holds two doctorates (Ph.D.s), the first in neuropsychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London and the second in clinical psychology from the University of Birmingham as well as a BSc in Psychology from the University of London. In addition Dr Cowey holds the Oxford Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the University of Oxford, which constitutes advanced training in cognitive therapy. Dr Cowey has over ten years experience as a therapist and psychologist working in the NHS. Her publications have appeared in such professional journals as Memory and in such edited collections as The Oxford Guide to Behavioural Experiments in Cognitive Therapy edited by James Bennett-Levy, Gillian Butler, Melanie Fennell, Ann Hackman, Martina Mueller and David Westbrook (Oxford University Press, 2004). Dr Cowey offers CBT for the treatment of adult mental health problems including: depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety, panic attacks, difficulties managing anger, phobias, PTSD, and psychosis including bipolar disorder.
